A man walks across the walls of the Old North stairwell. Pause and watch him wander the same space in which you now stand. If you watch long enough, you may catch the man as he suddenly travels back in time.
Inspired by the film Russian Ark (2002), this project by CCT students Xuejun Bao, Huan Geng, and Yingxue Guo, imagines Abraham Lincoln’s historic visit to Georgetown. The historical sequences recreate key scenes of the 2012 film Lincoln. As the main character moves from scene to scene and video to video, the film forms a continuous loop, suggesting historical transmigration and the lasting spirit of Old North.
Starring Martín Mazzeo with cameos by Chris Miller, Sam Redd, Casey Tilton, and Ramón Zamora.
