We let in napkins
with written phone numbers that
travel through the stream.

Momentarily
I forget the what-ifs, the
do-nots, the almosts.

Curves, ridges, softness–
Sounds I never knew had shape
A new, foreign world.

Shadows dancing there,
A kaleidoscope gleaming.
