Spot 3, by Joseph Hwang

~Joseph Hwang~

Sunlight and warmth show
Long strands of grass wave hello
Do they see me – know?

***

The clouds lost color
Their luster blown far away
Their naked shells float

***

Knock knock – hollow sounds
Inside appears empty but
something stirs within.

***

As the rumble nears
I cringe, withdrawing myself
falling into dark.

What is the future?
Will spot number 3 transform?
Wanting to return

***

Taste the crisp, cool breeze
The hearty soup from dinner
Lingers on my tongue

***

Leaves crunching softly
Wind blowing over my hands
All these new, fresh sounds

***

Soft, wet dirt crumbles
The earth is cool and gentle
A serene breeze sings

***

Sun kisses my cheek
Laughter echoes in the breeze
Joyous afternoon
